Some say knowledge comes with age
But does wisdom really lie with tenure?
Or does it arrive with experience?
In the same vein
Is naivety bound only to the young?
Is ignorance restricted by adolescence
With some cosmic transition into an intelligent adulthood?
Logic tells us this cannot be
A man who’s lived his entire life in luxury
May never know the pains of a wounded youth
An aged entrepreneur is his retirement
Could never know the trauma of a young soldier returning from war
So, would not circumstance be the judge of discernment?
For it are the events in an individual’s life
That truly define their understanding
Sort of a work in progress, once again written at 2 AM
